Imagine seeing your swimming technique for the very first time after decades! That was Bob’s experience. Underwater video wasn't around during his high school years and that’s where Swim423 comes in with professional video stroke analysis. Watching himself in HD on a big screen was a total revelation. After carefully studying his swimming strokes through crystal clear video clips, Bob and Swim423 made some vital changes to his technique. The result? A significant boost in his speed through the water and another State Gold Medal in 2025! For more on Bob's story read on...
It's a story of perseverance and a powerful comeback. In his 70s, Bob, a former high school swimmer, decided to dive back into competitive swimming. After a remarkable win at the 2024 Tennessee Senior Olympics, he connected with Swim423 to prepare for his next challenge: the 2025 Senior Olympics. His plan was bold—win at the state level again and head to the national championships in Des Moines, Iowa. Thanks to his incredible hard work and fantastic technique, Bob’s dreams became a reality. His journey is an inspiration to all
Having contacted Swim423 in early spring of 2025, I worked with him to get him prepared for the summer league swim season. He exhibited excellent dedication and was quick in his learning. This summer at the Chattanooga City League Championship, Gio made the finals in several events and even won the High Point Award for his age group!
When Joshua first called Swim423, he asked if I taught adults how to swim. Then, with some anxiousness and quivering in his voice, he said “actually, I’m afraid of water”.
Joshua is entering the US Air Force and has the honorable desire to be a part of the Special Operations Command which has many physical tests that must be passed before becoming Special Ops, including a swimming test. Joshua is a former wrestling champion and an MMA fighter. From the photo, you can see that he will pass all the land tests for sure!
It has been my honor and privilege to work with Joshua over the past couple of months. As I got to know him a little better, I found out that he had a couple of near drowning experiences in the water as a child that left him very afraid of getting back into the water. He is now 19 years old but hasn’t been swimming until he recently reached out to Swim423.
Not only has he overcome his previous fear of water, but he is swimming down the pool with ease. He still has some work to do to be able to swim 500 yards and tread water for three minutes, but he has a great start now.
Congratulations Joshua!!!
Martyn came to the United States recently to make the most of economic opportunities. He grew up in a very crowded city and had no pool access and had never learned to swim.
On his bucket list of things to do was to learn to swim without fear and with confidence.
His first session here at Swim423 was a difficult one for him as he struggled to be comfortable putting his head under water. He has since advanced quickly and he shows off his new skills in the video below.
He will be rejoining his wife and family back in China soon.
Go Martyn!
